The Lambeth Auxiliary Hospital
opened in July 1916 in Homedale,
a large mansion in Upper Norwood. It had 16 beds and was
affiliated to the Mile End Military Hospital.
At the end of November 1917 the Hospital transferred to Woodhall in College Road, Dulwich. Present status (October 2010) Nothing remains of the house. The whole area has been redeveloped and now contains Turkey Oak Close, Hamlyn Gardens and Homelands Drive, off Church Road. |

Looking up Homelands Drive, perhaps the original driveway to Homedale. The bottom of Homelands Drive (left) is perhaps the area of The Avenue, while Hamlyn Gardens (right) is the likely site of Homedale. |
