An auxiliary hospital to the 2nd London (T.F.) General Hospital opened at King Street on 15th March, 1915. It was designated a Class A hospital and had 20 beds for wounded and sick servicemen, later increased to 40. It was managed by the local Voluntary Aid Detachment.
By 1917 it had 45 beds.
The Hospital presumably closed in 1919, having treated 257 patients.
Present status (October 2010)
The Hospital site is now occupied by a tower block, with a Tesco Express supermarket on the ground floor.
