The Fairview V.A.D. Hospital
opened on 18th February 1915 in a property lent by Mr. F. Fish of
Millbrook, Chigwell. It had 12 beds under the management of the
Essex/82 Voluntary Air Detachment.
By November 1915 some 55 patients had been treated. The Hospital presumably closed at the end of the war in November 1918. Present status (May 2011) The building has been demolished. Its site is at the foot of School Lane, while its driveway became School Lane. |

The original driveway is now School Lane, off Lambourne Road. School Lane leads to a gated private housing estate. |
