In December 1920 the Salvation Army moved Cotland, a mothers and infants home, from Upper Clapton to a house in Stamford Hill which had been the Amhurst Park Hospital during WW1.

The new Cotland opened on 21st January 1921.  It had 33 beds and 18 cots.

On 23rd February 1953 the home was renamed Crossways.

It continued to operate as a maternity home until 14th February 1967, when it moved to No. 13 Laura Place in Clapton.


Present status (September 2010)

The site is now occupied by Stroh Court.
